Use of hsm includes digital archiving of crash films in the NCAC film library.
Access to the AMASS library is fairly restricted and goes into a chroot environment. This system is seperate from all other NCAC servers and so storage access must be requested by each user.
All access to the tape library is from Secure Shell using DSA authentication. We are using SSH 3.1 on hsm because of it's chroot environment capability. However, please be aware that the current OpenSSH scp does not follow the SecSH standard and therefore cannot be used to copy files from the hsm. If you have the OpenSSH program use sftp instead.
